we used a set of trick flow "twisted wedge" heads on a 350 rebuild 10 years ago on a friends 77 4 speed car with great results. he has over 80,000 on the re build and drives it to fla. and back every year from central ohio. this was done to mimic the big block semi-hemi heads and it is one of the strongest small blocks i have ever driven. i don't know if they still make this version or not because of problems they had with folks ignoring rocker arm geometry . we had to go .100 longer on the pushrods. also had to slightly take a die grinder to the flange plate on the tubular headers because of the angled spark plugs, stock exhaust manifolds are probably ok. trick flow is still in business and owned by summit speed equipment. .......very good quality imo.......

Reason: i forgot about tubular header flange modification
I have a set that I SERIOUSLY need to get rid of!!!!!!!!!!!!
Original box, papers, and SPECIAL head bolts. Drilled steam holes for a SB400 (I bought them that way). Even a set of GOOD spark plugs thrown in.
I'm running a set of the G1 Twisted Wedge trick flows and they run OK for street heads, I wouldn't run them on anything larger than a 350 c.i. engine, as I remember the intake is in the 180 cfm area. Also be aware that the G1 heads need a special rocker arm for the intake valve. These rockers are available from Comp Cams and trying to get a good witness mark on the valve stem without them is an exercise in futility. This adds a bit of money to the cost of the G1 heads because unless Comp Cams has changed they only offered the special rockers in the pro magnum series, of course you only need 8. They corrected this problem on the G2 Twisted Wedge trick flows and the G2's don't need a special length valve stems either (the G1s have a shorter than stock valve stem). I don't believe Trick Flow manufactures the Twisted Wedge series anymore. Also, stock exhaust manifolds will work but you will have to slightly grind the manifold port to match the slightly raised exhaust port of the Trick Flows.

I just bought a set in a Summit top end kit. I got the Strret Bracket for my 350. It comes with the 2.02/1.60 64cc. What do you think of the ones you have/had.
anyone ever use trick flow heads?? are they any good??
what did u think of them?? good or bad?? any comments on them?
much appreciated. thanks
I used a set on my '55 Belair. Had lots of problems with the valve springs. The engine was a 350 with b&m 144 blower, .510 -.488 life cam & D-cup pistons. Ran great for two years, then out of the blue it started breaking exhaust valve springs. That wasn't a big deal, but a year later it started breaking intake springs. Guess what, they didn't clear the piston and that took out the whole engine. Cracked the block on one cylinder, ruined all the pistons and some rods, and damaged the heads. Probably was my fault, since I should have replaced all the springs as soon as the first one broke.
For the first two years I didn't have any problems at all and they seemed to make good power. I think it must have been metal fatigue since the heads were rated for the cam I was using.
Hi OBX2323,
I believe all the current Summit offerings are for Trick Flow 23 degree heads which is a totally different animal than the Twisted Wedge heads. Maybe you knew that and I just misunderstood.
WM - I had the same valve spring problem with the G1 Twisted Wedge heads I bought new but it happened on the first drive. Trick flow had been having problems with the springs (supplier issue according to them) and sent me a new set and that took care of the issue - still running them.
