I have a change to buy a 64-65 3844461 intake(I have not taking the back plate of to see if it is a 64-or65) No cracks .Good shape just needs cleaning etc. What is it worth Thanks
I just paid $275.00 at the Puyallup Swap Meet for a 3794129 340HP aluminum manifold for my '63. It is in mint shape with the original heat shield still riveted underneath. Thought that was a good deal as I saw two others there for $400 and $575.......
About 2 years ago I sold one for $500. I guess the value has decreased a little, but none the less I think anywhere in the $300 - $350 range for a solid one is a good deal.
I would suggest you pay close attention to the following issues on 44461 intakes, the existance of one or more of these issues are what drve the price swings you see:
*center "dual plane" divider partially or fully hogged out (become familiar with what it is supposed to look like so you can spot this.)
*carb stud holes bunged up or heli-coiled.
*t-stat stud holes bunged up or heli-coiled
*t-stat mating surface pitted or worse
*a pipe plug in the water pump by-pass (make the seller prove that it comes out with a picture of it removed, ask me how I know)
