Default Rear Window

I'm planning on putting in the rear window on Sunday. I don't have the 66 manual so I don't exactly know where or how many spacers should go on each side? Does anyone know or have picts of an Installation. Thanks for the help guys. Rich

I have a 66 manual at my shop and will go back later today (now 4:30pm) and get back to you on this issue unless someone else gets it posted. Are you using the original style butyl rubber or urethane?

No such thing as "original butyl" - GM never used butyl tape for glass installation. The original install used Thiokol pumpable adhesive (with the two different sizes of rubber spacers to set the glass the proper height above the body opening flange so the reveal moldings fit correctly). Thiokol was replaced by urethane in the early 70's, and urethane continues today; you'll also need silane primer for the glass, and for the body opening flange for urethane adhesion. Any automotive glass shop has everything you need. The "Corvette Body" section of the Chassis Service Manual describes the installation in detail, with photos and illustrations.
