I bought a Pneumatic Floor Nailer to do 400sq ft of hardwood floors in our Masterbedroom. Paid $119 versus the ones at Depot for 4 times as much. I figured it'll break but it's still cheaper than renting a couple of times.

Well four years later and several thousand sq foot of Hardwoods laid-plus loaned it to neighbors and friends-NOT one problem....

I was a little disappointed in a air impact wrench - I think I spent $49 and it only lasted 3 years...

I believe they have an additional 15% off your entire purchase this w/e.

They also have a battery tender knockoff for around $7.00...anyone tried one ? I'm thinking of it for the riding mower.
I bought two battery tenders at $6.99, one for the '62 and one for the "Pink/Linc" and they work well; they don't come in 6-volt, so couldn't use one for the '50 Olds. 2 weeks later, they were "on sale" for $3.99, limit 6. I bough six, kept them in the trunk of the Olds. My Cruise bud/mechanic - who had kept all my "rides" in A-1 shape - had to sell his 1/2 interest in his repair business because he needed a double-lung transplant (got it 3/1/09 and is making a slow recovery) visited a Cruise two weeks ago, and I gave him two battery tenders...one for his '57 Chevy, one for his '67 Lincoln 4-door 'vert.
That'll keep them charged until he can drive again. Also gave one to a Cruise bud who details my cars "GRATIS" It easy to be magnanimous...at $4- a "pop".
Here's "heads up": I hooked up both cars in mid-winter after they had been idle since October; THEN...I read the Instructions: "battery MUST be fully charged before attaching the float charger; it will NOT charge a battery, only keep one charged" Also, instructions warn: Disconnect before attempting to start vehicle.
I currently have 2 coupons - good until 11/09 - to buy more at $3.99

me thinks you are not PinkVetteLLady, but a guy, poser. the black impact deep well sockets are only $12.99 on sale at harbor freight. i would NEVER buy impact sockets from HF for 200 bucks. DOKK bought the same ones on sale for $12.99, i have beat the snot out those impact sockets with air and inpact wrenches for 4 years and not one has broken yet.

A lot of their stuff is good, some is not. Do not buy auto fuses from them. There have been several cases where the fuse melts, and then the wire melts without blowing the fuse.

I buy their stuff for single projects or for VERY occasional usage.

Yard tools are good and their 20-piece combination metric and SAE wrench sets are great for taking to the Pick-A-Part yards, if you leave it unattended and somebody swipes it it's only 20 bucks.

Their guarantees are pretty strong if you save your receipts. No-hassle replacements within warranty period.

I bought a 4,000 pound aluminum US General jack about two years ago. About one year ago it began to leak down. I also bought an airline lubricator/water separator that developed a major crack in the water separator bowl. I have other HF toys that are holding up better and I am not averse to buying from them but I would never consider them a source of anything ‘high quality’.

Default Harbor Freight - Parts

I would also add that replacement part service from Harbor Freight is excellent and very reasonable. Example: Sears $18.00 - Harbor Freight $2.80 for the same impact driver switch.

Yes, I too must chime in. I found HF by seeing an ad in the Houston Chronicle (newspaper). I went with my little sales ad and FELL IN LOVE! I now have tools that I only dreamed of one day having. (21 gallon air compressor with impact wrench, air grinder, 11-drawer tool box, low-profile floor jack (2-7/8")...and the list goes on). I must admit though, I was somewhat apprehensive the first time I layed under my Vette while it was completely supported with 4 HF jack stands that I paid $28 for. Ha! After much use, I'm much more comfortable now. In fact, I've used them under my wife's big, heavy @ssed Cadillac with no problems. My new FAVORITE STORE!

Wish they would come to the Great White North, we have a version of that kind of store called Princess Automotive, but the HF deals are amazing! K

Default Never pay list price

Scope out what you want and then be patient. It all comes up on sale eventually.

Plus you can find 20% off coupons in many magazines, such as the American Rifleman.

I just bought a low profile long reach trolley jack on sale from them on line for $75. None of the NY state stores near me had it, discontinued. The thing weighs 114lbs, I thought for sure shipping would be outta this world! But guess what, to NY state in three days, $10!

I've bought Harbor Freight tools and items for YEARS now, and have a pretty good collection. I've got a floor drill press, numerous air tools including impacts, air ratchet, air sanders, air cutoff tools, air nailers, air hammer, floor jack, bearing pullers, numerous sets of open end/box end wrenches in metric and US sizes, various torque wrenches, regular and deep well impact sockets in both English and metric, impact socket extensions, 12 ton press, bead blast cabinet, router bits, routers, saws, 1/2" reversing drill, woodworking smaller items (clamps, guides, drills, plug cutters), battery chargers, overhead electric hoist, and a lot of smaller things I've stowed away and forgotten.

All in all, I've been highly satisfied with them. What few that have been junk have been smaller items, such as clamps, that were no great loss and easily and cheaply replaced. Needless to say, I wouldn't have been able to furnish my shop with 1/3 of the items that I've bought if it hadn't been for Harbor Freight.

My last purchase was a set of carbide router bits to build panel doors. $49.95 at Harbor Freight vs $150 - $225 or so from other sources. Also bought a set of impact universal joints in 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch sizes. Thought they might be handy in accessing the body mount bolts through the access panel just forward of the rear wheels . . . . . but if not, they'll be a welcome addition to my collection.

Nope, but it looks good to me, I've seen it in the stores. I do have the engine stand, however, and it works fine.
