Reverse Hurst Shifter problem

Reverse Hurst Shifter problem
I have a 65 Corvette with M-20 and a Hurst shifter. I either have a shifter issue or linkage problem. Here is the issue...
All forward gears 1-4 work fine. When I shift into Reverse (left and up), it goes into reverse fine, but when I pull it out of reverse to neutral, it is still in reverse. It won't come out of reverse until I shift into second or fourth gears (down). I tried to adjust the linkage on reverse, but if I change it, I can't get into reverse, or the shifter won't go to reverse. Anyone had this issue before?
Linkage wrong? Worn shifter?

When I bought my 63 Vette it had a HURST shifter for a Borg warner Trans the reverse would not work well. Plus I had the original shifter linkage for a stock 63 shifter. HURST shifter for a Munice reverse is "L" shape the Borg warner doesnt have that..Plus I also bought the HURST linkage..Now it works flawless..
