Hey guys,

I still have my 66 hard top tucked away in the garage after selling the car at Barret Jackson in 06.

I never did restore this piece. Somone sprayed the fake vinyl on it as I'm told they did back in the 70's and other then that it's got wear but no dents and a little rust on the clamps. All the metal is there and I guess it needs restoration.

Any idea what this is worth as is?

A local guy is offering 400 bucks.

The condition of the window, trim and headliner would definately impact the price.

Check eBay & CL... Here's one ('63) for $1225:

http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/pts/1390580152.html

Here's a restored one for $3,000:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Corve...Q5fAccessories

The restoration kits are around $900 including the glass, so you oughta ask for more than $400.

I would say between 500 and 1000 dollars for an unrestored top. If all of the stainless is there and not all dented up then that helps. If the window has any damage it's worthless and will need to be replaced. To restore a top it's between 2k and 3k or more if you pay to do it.

OK,
So I never noticed this before but the window is plexiglas, which might make sense since the car was originally drag raced...We figured that out when restoring the suspension...

All the metal is there and straight. Just needs polishing. The rubber is actually not bad, but I don't know about this pseudo vinyl stuff.

Thanks for the advice all!

ALL C1 and C2 hardtop windows are plexiglass.

If you have the name of the buyer of your car, I would try and contact them and offer it to them. If they were not interested (I certainly would be) then I would expect my pricing to start at $1000 depending on the condition of stainless and window. Just my 2 cents.

I purchased one for my 65 in Sevierville in the Spring in about the same condition as yours (assuming your liner good and inner trim is complete) for $500. I thought I got a good deal at that price.

I kept mine from my 66, it's white with navy int trim and diamond tuft black headliner, and I wouldn't let it go for under 2500. Love the look.

I paid $1800 for a vinyl covered 67 hardtop. The vinyl is excellent, as is the rear window, but I had to replace the headliner, weatherstripping, weatherstrip screws, have the stainless polished and a few dings taken out. I figure I overpaid by about $300, but I wanted a vinyl top.

I found one on ebay last June for $1200 delivered. All original 98% condition. And it matches my car year and color (blk/blk). I was very lucky. All hardware was included.

This spring I purchased one from a forum member for my 63. The stainless was in great shape as was the window. The headliner was in good shape, but had two small sags. I paid $800 for the top. It cost me $350 to have it painted and about $150 for a new headliner. When I have the top on , it gives the car a completely different look.
