Default Fuse Block Help...

My '61 has an old beat up fuse box and I can't read what fuses (and sizes) go where. In searching for a new junction from various suppliers, I can't make out what each fuse is for. Can anyone help me with what each fuse is for (and its size)?

I cleaned up that top fuse holder since this photo was taken so the fuse fits. Does this fuse block need replacing?

Thanks!

The rust on the contacts looks about like the fuse block on my '66 that wouldn't keep good contact with the fuses, the radio would go on and off before I replaced it. Turns out the wire covering was pretty brittle from age as well, I replaced the entire dash harness.

If I were gonna do the job, I'd replace the entire dash harness, I think it's a lot easier in the long run, and you'll probably be better satisfied than just trying to replace the fuse block. Yeah, I know it's somewhat more expensive, but sometimes it's better off to "bite the bullet" and get 'er done!! This is one of those times, IMO!!

Best to You!!

The back of your owner's manual should have a chart indicating the proper fuse sizes. It's page 79 in the case of my 62.

Here's my 62's fuse panel. The top fuse is for the Tail Lamps, although the writing is somewhat obscured

If the block and wires are still original, it's time to replace them both.

And even if not original, looks like time to replace.

Here's the fuse block from the Lectric Ltd harness for the 1960.

Looks like a correct 61 fuse box to me. I believe GM simply re-purposed a generic GM fuse box for use on the corvettes.

Lots of parts were not specific to the Corvette, used on other GM models as well.
