A big picture of a C2 coupe Daytona blue
Anybody here have a link to a picture(a big pic)showing a C2 coupe in Daytona blue?
The pictures i have seen it looks almost like black.
Never seen that colour other than small pics. Never in real life.
And what do you folks think of that colour?

It is a very dark shade of blue and you need a good sun shine to really bring the blueness out.
Try searching flickr.com for 1963 and 1964 Corvette pictures and you'll find few good photos showing the color.

I remember cruising from Bilox to New Orleans in a rental POS and I had a pristine Daytona blue 64 coupe in front of me the whole way. Seeing that car cruising along the coast put a huge smile on my face. I like the color a lot.

Here are a couple more examples of Daytona Blue, pics that I took at Daytona of all places. Also, my '64 Coupe is Daytona Blue and at least 95% of people refer to it as black.

I have a 64 coupe with the orignal paint in Daytona Blue. Send an IM with your E-mail and I will send a few. They won't look as good as those shown, 45 years old.

Not my car, but one of my favorites, simply because I have a blue/tan leather SWC (in need of total restoration). Pretty rare color combo...

I saw that color on a 63 SW 340 Hp car in high school. Said if I ever had a 63 that is the color it was going to be. Well now I have one that is undergoing resto, and it is in the process of being Daytona blue/midnight blue/ or as they referred to it on the factory line- dark blue.

Heres a pic of my Father and his Daytona Blue 64 vert ac,pb,pw,powerglide back in 64 and an unknown coupe in the background at Clear Lake Yacht Club. The astronauts were all over the place.
Check out the triple stripe whitewalls. I have never seen them until this pic. You will also notice the headlight bucket lines weren't perfect. Front bumper is a bit off etc... The car had just been delivered. The factory just pumped them out. Says he much prefered his 62 vert to the 64. I was too young to remember either.

Just remember, it's just as big a PIA to take care of as black. All polish and wax should be applied by hand in a lengthwise stroke to minimize or eliminate swirl marks, washing and drying strokes too. But like black, a very flattering shade to any car!

From Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale last month:
I love the Daytona Blue. I'd like to find a nice '63 SWC in that color, while my wife has me shopping for a '64 roadster in DB.

It's not a coupe, but you can see what it looks like in shady sunlight - kinda blue or kinda black. Much nicer than black in MHO. It would be beautiful with white interior...
Under flouresent (sp) light, it's simply gorgeous...
