They've got great selection and expertise. I would guess you don't want too much low end torque, but would like high rpm range to take advantage of the tripower. 60 has a comp cams 294 solid lifter cam in my 355, high end is great, low end is weak, idles at ~1000 with a great lope. Distributor requires a low vacuum can. low end torque is much better than my 283 with duntov and off road Z28 cams, but then there's the extra inches now. Stock valve covers will not work without some changes. Harland Sharp roller rockers eliminated adjustment problems. Give compcams a call.

Fun thread as always...I just think the 3x2 setups just look badass on top of a SBC. Talking to my Dad and Uncle about this stuff is always fun since they were right in the middle of these antics back in the day...

While my Dad's '60 remained unchanged and always lived with it's single WCFB, my Uncle had a '5? Olds that he cammed up with an Isky and a 3x2 setup...I know that we still have the tube of Isky cam lube since I saw it when I was digging around for some stuff in my Dad's garage...will have to search around for some pics when I am back in town for Christmas...the Olds ran like a wildcat and caused my uncle quite a few issues with the local 5-0...

Thanks as always...

Randy

I dunno, there was probably too much emphasis from the 'shadetree' set on getting as much gas crammed into the engine as possible 'back in the day'.

Prob would have been more productive to deal with the flow through the heads and other engineering/design issues as well. E.g. it took a few years for the Ford 289ci to finally get 'woken up' in the guise of the Boss 302 with its much improved heads and 'breathing' capabilities...
