The shocks that impress me the most are Monroe Reflex. They only list them for newer applications, but based on mount type & extended/compressed lengths, you can probably find a set that will work on your car. I have installed a set on one of my Cudas in the front - they fit like a glove. The ones I have for the rear are about 1" too short - I have some other #'s that are a little longer though.
The Reflex uses a patented valving system that produces a really unique (good) road feel & performance. I installed a set of them on my dad's Expedition & a set on my old '96 Ram pickup. TOTALLY improved the ride quality on both. My dad's truck had 3500 miles on it when I installed them & he could not believe the difference!
What year is your Vette? I'll see if I can look up a set that will work on your car.
