Default 53 Corvette on E Bay

Below you will find a link to a 1953 Corvette on e-bay. The person from New Palestine, Indiana claims it is Vin # 98 and this e-bay posting is from the same guy who claimed to have the original 1953 Corvette # 29 that know one knew anything about till last January when the real 1953 Corvette Vin # 29 showed up and was on display in FL. at the NCRS Winter Meet. You be the JUDGE.

I like what he answer's when someone asks about the Motor. He says
The motor is out of the car and is being rebuilt, it is not an original motor car. The car is being sold with being in process of restoration. The motor will be a numbers correct car, but no it is not the original.
How cool is that?

It's interesting that there were two statements made regarding the engine - both on May 9:

1) The car is currently not running the engine would need to be rebuilt...

2) The motor is out of the car and is being rebuilt...

I wonder if the buyer gets a rebuilt engine with the car or if they get an engine in the process of being rebuilt, but needing completion?

Maybe it will come back from the "reman" shop with eight cylinders.

Time out are good for drinking and figuring out how you can get in trouble when you come back. The guy selling the car has been on a self imposed time out since Jan since a certain car was found to be a fraud. So tome outs are a good thing some times.

The car appears to be the real deal [as pro team advertises] but his reputation among all the foums that I have seen on the fake #29 I believe will make it difficult for him to get the true value of the car.

As a matter of fact, I was thinking the same thing:

Dear corvette019530,

Could you post a picture of the serial number plate?

He pulled the car off of e-bay just hours before the time was up. That is what he is, just a fake. He sure had some of the people on her fooled. The guy is full of good person to stay clear of.

I get so tired of these clowns...and there seem to be more and more of them. Of course, its always 'buyer beware' but its hurting the whole classic car hobby IMO.

Yeah Frankie he is one that Corvette people want to stay clear of. He said he wrote and put together a book on How to tell a fake 53 Corvette and what to look for when he is the biggest fake there is. Who better to put together a book on FAKE things then a FAKE himself.

Well fortunately his ad says he is selling because he is, "...getting out of the hobby". So we can all rest easier...
