Default Al Knoch issues

I am becoming used to "less than stellar" service from some of the vendors but being lied to, on more than one occasion is just too much.

I ordered a headliner from Al Knoch on 7/7. I called and placed the order on the telephone so that I could confirm lead time and delivery. I was assured that it could be shipped on Friday 7/9.

I called again on Monday, 7/12 and was told that it was in shipping and would be sent out that day.

I called again this morning to see where it was, and was told that they are not planning on putting it together until next Friday

This level of customer abuse is just hard for me to understand. If the delivery is going to be long; just say so. Lying to me on multiple occasions is unacceptable. I plan on replacing most of the interior in my 66. Care to guess who is not getting the business?

If they treated you this way? They deserve to lose your business. I had good luck with them.

Nothing upsets me like being lied to.

I too have had issues over the years. But Al still produces a quality product and when I have been upset and purchased else where I have "never" been happy with the quality. I believe their product is worth the exta $$ and the extra wait time, but the extra aggrevation is another issue.

In my opinion, Al Knoch is living on his past reputation. He is no longer the best out there.

What I dont understand is that "they" (all retailers of this sort) are supposedly hurting because of the economy. Are they really hurting if they treat customers this way? I was laughing to myself at the diner today when I heard a local plumber complain about the economy and lack of work. I had called him twice for an estimate on some work and he never called me back.

also.. His time has run its course.. I will not buy anything from them again... To add to this I'm getting really tired of buying parts fo rmy 65 that clearly are not of the quality or even close to what they're supposed to replace...

I ordered an Al Knock interior and the driver side carpet was short by about an inch. I sent it back and the new piece is still short and a different color. Also they forget the windlace for the kick panels. I am thinking they are living on their old reputation.

I am done dealing with Al Knock.

I own a shop and run into this all the time now. What I used to get in a day or two now takes a week or two Personally I've always been happy with the quality of Al Knoch's stuff.

If they had told me when I placed the order that delivery would run to 4 weeks, I could have accepted that that was due to inventory reductions. Lying to customers on multiple occasions is simply wrong, on every level.

This headliner had best be perfect when it finally does arrive, or I will speak to them at Carlisle ........... when there is a crowd in front of their POS truck. Assuming of course that I actually receive it by then.

I am not sure what you are trying to say here.

Are you saying that maybe Al Knoch's shipping department has no clue as to quantity of stock on their very own shelves?

If I read it correctly, then it is a simply thing to just state that the ship date is based on current, actual stock on hand, and not to lie, repeatedly, to a customer based on some 'previous' level of stock that might have previously existed.

If Al Knoch's business is that out of touch with each department, then maybe his time is coming to an end. Certainly something that must be resolved.

JMHO,
RK

Thats so true that it iritates me. One vendor that i have used a lot ad have been very pleased with(always the right parts and fast shipping)says everything is stock and parts i have ordered back in the beginning of June has not yet arrived

I dont know Al Knock so well but perhaps he lives on old glory?I have the feeling that many of my fellow forum members must have Al Knoch parts because of the well known name

Tommy; I tried them first. They were very upfront and told me they are 2 - 3 weeks out; drop shipped from manufacturer.

They're like the CF equivalent of the lunar cycle. You can practically set your calendar by them.

Gee; Maybe it's because many of the vendors out there, when it comes to honesty, and customer service, have their heads so far up their azz that the lump in their throats is their nose.
