Historian's list (in descending order) of most valuable Corvettes?Disagree?
Trying to make a list of most valuable Corvettes. I used Vette magazine chart as startingpoint. I will whittle this list down to ten; but have nagging worry I left out one or another year valuable model. Like to hear opinions on which ones I left out, or which ones should be tossed off . Rationales for your opinion appreciated (besides the fact you own one...)

When you get into the range of more common cars, say the $75K and less area, the condition of a particular car has a great deal to do with it's value. It affects the high price cars as well, but some of the very rare cars are valuable regardless of condition. Your relative values are probably close, but an awful lot of models are left out.

Re: Historian's list (boerio)
same goes for the big tank '63 Z06 cars...last year I heard one went over $150K at the auction in Orlando and was a no sell!!!

Re: Historian's list (john m)
The 1969 ZL1 Corvette value seems very low. Only 2 built so difficult to put a price on them unless they go up for auction. The ZL1 motor was used in road racing Corvettes and Camaro factory Super Stock drag cars but the Can Am Alu Chevy motor was a completely different block with a 4.440 bore and Siamese cyl.
The first LT1 was 1970. Great motor that was also famously underrated at 370 hp some say more like 400hp.

Saw a 20 mi 67 L 88 go to 750,000 two years ago and was a no sale as Burris had a 950 K reserve so the market can get carried away with some of these cars. I would add my 87/88 ZR1 prototype late May early June 87 build date to the prototype list as it is the only never smashed C 4 prototype of any kind outside the NCM or GM and it is a ZR1 w/P2 motor (very few of these built) and hand marked build sheet with first 17 in rims, first 17 in goodyear 315 tires, all changes in glass are hand done and is probably first one done on assembly line being readied for production zr1s, was certified as destroyed by GM.

Re: Historian's list (Blkblt)
Sorry, maybe I listed that last entry in a confusing way. At the bottom of the list I am going to list a few "starter" Corvettes, the cheapest clean Corvettes you can buy today. I think those will be found in the 180-hp. versions that were around for awhile but will take nominations. (And as I pass used car lots I see C4's for under $10K) For those who say "I think the price should be higher," please take a stab at naming a price. There are some big buyers out there. Bruce McCaw of Kirkland WA doesn't like Corvettes but he thought nothing of spending $3.6 million on an old Mercedes the other day. And I heard he's dropped 90K on Ferraris.
Thanks for the opinions expressed so far...
