I joined the 63-67 Sting Ray registry Saturday while attending the Carlisle show. They had 58 members cars parked in the C2 Display area of the show field (59 after I parked my 67 there too). Their website is www.63-67corvette.com. They told me they have 5000 members (I checked their website and couldn't find a member list). The club members I met seemed to be very nice people.
I know nothing about the www.c2registry.org/ but the 63-67 registry was organized and approved by GM in November 1997 and has been managed by two devoted, well-known and respected people Dennis and Cindy Manire. Their '63 Grand Sport is currently at the NCM's "Serene To Extreme" display. Of course if you go to their basic website www.63-67corvette.com you'll see all this for yourself.
A free and volunteer based resource available to all C2 owners, I joined in 99 and have enjoyed time with and learned more from other members than any other Corvette resource out there.
Unfortunately due either to scheduling or car readiness conflicts, I was unable to join past cruises but they have had many excellent ones and some exciting new ones planned too.
(With apologies for a possible thread hi-jack) during the drive back from this year's Carlisle I got to thinking if it might be possible to glean some statistics from their registry data. Member information is extremely well-guarded by Dennis and Cindy but (only) if it would not compromise that primary mandate, I wonder if we could see:
Midyear Statistics - Number of mid year vehicles registered by year/coupe/convertible vs. historic GM production volumes - Geographic distribution (how many in US or Canada by state or province, other countries) - Average age of current owner - Average years owned - Average mileage - Percent 100% original to 20% modified to +40% modified - Current car colors - Milage still driven annually

You will not be able to find a (63-67 Sting Ray Registry) members list because it is confidential by the Registry. No members information is released to other Registry members or outside vendors. It is held ONLY in the private Registry database maintained by Dennis and Cindy Manire.
Jim
thanks, it was the first C2 i owned (yellow 300/4spd coupe); sold it before i went to Vietnam.. sure wish i still had it
Bill
Hey, that's the same circumstances that caused me to sell my white/red '56 Pontiac convertible. I'll bet a lot of other cars were sold as a result of Vietnam as well. Might make for an interesting future thread . . . . . .
Coming home was also the reason I bought my first C2 . . . .
In our search for C2 registries me and some corvette buddies only found the 63-67 registry. Since this is a closed website with no data / info sharing it did not meet our needs (the needs of fans from overseas).
The aim we had and have is to create an open platform to register your beloved car, have access to free data (mainly donated by registered users) and be able to contact other members for information sharing purposes. Every user can select him/herself which and how much data to publish.
Checked both sites. Not there. Is that yours or a previous car your looking for?
Jim
The search list that you checked at the Sting Ray Registry does not access the registered owner data. The search page contains about 700 search requests that people like me have entered data to display. The VIN of the car listed with my name on the search page is not the VIN of the car I own. It's the VIN of a car I have information about that will make the current owner happy.

Have fun!
Michael, I noticed the page created listing my car's options has a totals line that gives the total order cost (less tax and freight) and the total percent. The total percent for my car is 0.00, and beneath that is a note: (1 cars)
Does that mean mine is the only car registered with that list of options?

My mistake. I had just signed up to that site yesterday and hadn't looked closely at it. I spent a little time looking today and I'm disappointed. The site wants you to supply them with info. but they don't give any info. out. Waste of time if you ask me. They're now deleted. C2 registry is 100 times better.
