Default 67 Interiors

Hi All,

Newbie here.

I was looking for some advice regarding the interior of my 67 raodster.

I got it as a basket case and am now looking at purchasing interior items as our dollar ($A) is nearly at parity with the $US.

My question is this....... Al knock has the best reputation for interiors, accepted. He is also the most expensive. If I was to purchase deluxe door trims from Al Knock, Corvette Central, Corvette America, J&D and stood them all side by side would the difference be obvious?

I can certainly find other things to spend the money on if I don't purchase from Al Knock.

By the same token I don't want to park my finished car next to someone else who has Al Knock and I have something else and realise that I should have gone with Al.

Apart from door panels (trims) is the difference obvious with other interior parts.

Any comments appreciated.

Regards from Australia

I would check out the Corvette America interior, I believe Wilcox is having a sale right now, I have one of each, and both have good and bad points, but the price is alot better with the CA.

You'd be surprised how many interior retailers buy from Knoch's, and market them to the public, kinda like no-name food, all made by major manufacturers. K

Al Knoch, IMHO, is likely the best and worth the money, however, Corvette America also sells a good product, you can save a little for some other things you might need.

Al Knoch bright blue for my car wasn't even close, Corvette America matched my orig perfect. I would request a swatch before you purchase from anyone.

I have not been able to perform a side-by-side comparison, but I am very pleased with the interior pieces that I ordered from Corvette America. I think Willcox has them on sale right now, and there are other sales from time to time.

PS: It's great to hear from my favorite country (after the US, of course). I can't wait to go back!

Thanks for all the responses.

I already have red leather seats, so the matching of the colours may be an issue.

Must admit that I am leaning towards Al Knocks products.

Was there much difference in total cost from the 66 to the 67?

Are you saying your complete interior was $2,300, or that a 67 is $2,300 more than a 66?

The interiors are on sale right now and in my opinion as an installer and a seller.. We carry the best quality available hands down.

The CA door panels fit as close to originals as anything ever reproduced! The dies on the door panels were re-worked about two years ago and they spared no expense doing it.

Here is a post where we did the installation on a set of 1964 seat covers. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-a...y-willcox.html
