Default Original Sidepipe Value??

What value would you place on a set of original used GM 427 sidepipes in good condition?

Pipes $500 to $700 and the Covers About the same. New Repo's are $1900 for the pipes and covers that look close to originals. I paid $700 for used SB pipes and covers. I did have to do some polishing for a few days

Thanks!
How can you tell if they are real. These were put on a car in the late nineties and I think they were NOS GM pipes. They have chrome tips and the chambered portion is aluminized. The front sections are steel and have surface rust.

If i remember correctly, the crimps on the reproduction pipes are different than the original pipes.

Chris, the pipes have a GM part number stamped on them.

Thanks! Where is the stamp located.

The pipes have a mellow rumble, so i believe they are GM pipes.

Back in 94 i purchased some for a 65 and they arrived with GM stickers. Did GM ever reproduce the pipes?

Look on the outside radius about 3-4" up from the straight run of pipe:

Thanks for the picture! I will probably need to break through some rust to find them if they are there.

So, do you know if GM made reproduction pipes in the nineties or were they still selling NOS?

I think Walker made the pipes for GM.

Default Asking price

I saw a pair of original larger diameter pipes for BB at Bloomington Gold with an asking price of $800. This was for the pipes only. Don't know if they sold for that, but that was the asking price.

If you look closely at my crappy picture, you can see the "W" at the end of the part number.

Very interesting.
I checked the pipes and the passenger side pipe has

CM-3872970 W The last 0 is dotted the entire way around.

I have not checked the drivers side pipe yet.

They are going in the for sale section.
