Many years ago I bought a sleeve of heavy duty incadescent bulbs from NAPA and have only used two so far with six still in reserve. Nothing wrong with the old steel cage drop light although I do find that the old style Craftsman fluroscent tube gives a more diffused and gentle light, not to mention that it does not become hot after prolonged usage.
The advertised 2 hour battery life has not been a problem thus far because my back has a 1.5 hour life!
Seriously, I've been using it mostly as a trouble light, since my car is "finished". So battery duty cycle isn't a major concern. Also the 2 hour advertised time seems understated based on my experience.
Now if I were back at the phase where I spent several days cleaning the underbody -- I'd be using my plug-in multi-bulb fluorescent.
Got rid of the incandescent years ago when I read about a guy who lost a garage full of Ferrari's to a gasoline fire started by his trouble light.
