Two C2s Per C4
When the C4 84's came out I was disappointed in it's looks. It wasn't until the C5 came out in 97 did I start to notice Corvettes again, and not just for their looks, but it's leap in solving squeaks and rattles that plagued 1953-1996 dated frame designs, with it's new frame design.
When crusing in my '64, I enjoy the sound of the engine, chassis, and road noise. When crusing in my '91 (getting 26.5 mpg on the freeway), I can enjoy a conversation with my passenger or even my stereo. My '91 has been cross country on the National Corvette Caravan to Bowling Green. No way I would subject myself/wife to that in anything older than a C4.

C4
The unit-body frame used in the C4 was prone to rattles and squeaks due to minimal sound deadening.
Not my words.
C5
The C5 Corvette structure, consisting of a strong perimeter frame combined with a center backbone, provides an impressive level of rigidity. This robust design allows Corvette's independent suspension to be tuned precisely for driver control and freedom from impact harshness.
Not my words again, but both statements used the word frame in there discription just as I did.
From 1969 to 1971, I made 7 round trips cross country to CA while working as a Field Rep for Lockheed Aircraft's Georgia division in my 69 C3.
Each trip was made in 3 days each way, and as you know, there was very limited instate roads back then. First 4 trips were to Travis AFB, Fairfield CA, and 3 were to Edwards AFB flight test facility located outside Lancaster, CA, with a trip that included driving all the way up to Vacaville/Fairfield before driving down to Lancaster. C3 seats and suspension were better than C2 too.
At my age, it's still not uncommon for me to sit in my VW jetta for 620 to 706 miles before having to stop for fuel on long trips. I've logged 120,000+ miles in it in 4 years, and I have another driver. But I'm and old Red Neck use to hard times..lol
Look, you called C2 just another pretty car, and you took the C4 instead, so I assumed you consider it better looking than a C4...
I just took pretty and married it to the old who brought the ugliest date trick, as your post came off like that to me.
If you took offense about a cars looks, I have no more to add to a thread that has gone to nothing but defending a choice in car. I keep forgetting a lot of Corvette owner's think everyone is looking down there nose at them because they have a Cx generation car. A car is a car to me Corvette are not, generation of it doesn't reflect on owners status to me.
Hope you can get over this.

Not even close to often I would ever make a critical statement about vette body styles, but....

A C4 is the ugly Step Sister in Corvette generation family.
Taking a C4 to a meet does require guts....
That's like leaving your good looking girl friend sitting at home and taking a Fat ugly girl to the Prom, only to find out your friends tricked you and there is no prize for bringing the ugliest date, while they all brought Pretty girls...

You are the one sticking out like a Sore Thumb, with a Black Eye to boot.
I'd rather be caught dead taking a 74-77 C3 to a meet...

How many C3's were there?
I own a 1985 Corvette, which a lot of people consider the ugliest of the ugly generation, since they consider the 1991-1996 cars to be a little "sexier". But hey............still better than the 1980 Corvette with 305 engine...........no?
But I don't care what you or anybody else thinks, because I know that if I keep my rare and valuable prize package well preserved, unused and trailered like a lot of C4 owners have been doing lately, that it will be worth millions of dollars someday! After all, it's only new once, ya know, and eventually there will be a huge pent-up demand for these famous and flamboyant fossils from factory to fortunately festering families.
Here's a nice video for all of you other C4 lovers to watch................................if you dare (the ending is the best part):

Kinda reminds me of the one about the guy who picked up a girl at a bar and brought her back to his place. As they got down to business, she took a look and asked "Who do you expect to please with THAT?" The guy smiled and said "ME!"

(And I'll anticipate the next post - no, I'm not implying C-4 owners have small...well, never mind!
)
In my opinion the '64 is the better looking car. But the '91 is just better/easier to drive in close quarters and bumper-to-bumper traffic with 300 other cars. I would have really hated to rear-end a vintage Ferrari Daytona with those old drum brakes. And it was nice to talk to the passenger while taking in the sights.
Around here, C2s are essentually just another pretty car with a heritige when you consider them against modern technology, and that is really all they have going for them.
