I have a '66 Coupe with a NOM 327 ci engine that I'm trying to figure out.
Stamp number is V0410FB. Picture attached. I can't figure out what the FB represents. 0410 is assumed to be April 10. Not sure about the V either. Could use your help. Thanks in advance.
Numbers above the oil filter is:
371
388
and down alittle lower is cast numbers 111 1 N
Number on the top of the bell housing, passenger side is D79
Also found the number 13 near the fuel pump

Reason: More information and numbers
"Corvette by the Numbers" and Nasty Z28 says: V0410FB
V=Flint Engine Plant
04=Assembly month April
10= Assembly day 10th
FB= 69' 327 with power glide. 235 HP 2 barrel carb
Appreciate the information. I knew the engine was not original. It has L-79 hand written on the oil pan. With FB being 1969, does this automatically mean it is not a L-79 327 ci / 350 hp engine. Or, did they also have this L-79 327/350 combination in 1969?
I'm so thrilled. Thanks to all of you for helping me figure out where my engine came from. Of course, the mystery still exists as to why the original motor is not in the car, and why did they come up with the idea to take a 327 out of an Impala. Will probably never get it all figured out.
Here's a picture of the '66 Coupe that this mystery motor is in. Pretty nice ride.

not that hard. someone in the past ran the car hard a lot. the motor finally decided it needed a window. so the owner when the local junk yard. asked for a cheap running engine. the junk yard owner said we just got this 69 Chevy in with light damage but it runs. well the rest is history
Except for the PVC system, not much difference in 327 blocks over the 70s I believe. If it's not original - it's not original, but the interesting story may be what's inside it now and heads and manifold sitting on top. It's Impala roots may have evolved considerably.
Thank you. Wheels are Chip Foose Nitrous Legend 17 x 7 mounted on Nexan 235/45 R17 Gatorback radials. Profile of the car dropped 3" overall compared to the 4-ply's that came with the car.
I have the knock off wheels and 4-ply orange-wall tires but they don't ride very nice and the skinny 4-ply's pull the car all over the place when you find the ruts in the asphalt.
Bought the Foose wheels to move the looks of the car from "pretty" to "pretty bad" looking. Liked the 5-spoke Craiger Mag / American Racing look but wanted something more unique.
