The more of those goofy looking redlines you post, the worse they look. Especially on rally wheels. Deal with it!
As for thay guy from Calif. that's blowing about blackwalls, I put them on my '65 when I bought it in '72 as replacement tires as that's what came new on the "no option" car that I bought used. Worst mistake I ever made on tires. Nobody looked at it. Nobody bragged. I put gold lines on it and people are all over it!
I could be wrong but I'm thinking the tires that came on the first "real" sports cars weren't even offered in whitewall sizes. Could be wrong though. Check me out!
