If you look closely at a used clip, you'll see most are cracked where they were bent. The job is just too much of a PIA to use anything but new clips, even if they are around a buck a piece...
You may find that some may break when taking them out (squeezing them together) or more likely while spreading them again when putting them back. I bought new but gave my old ones to a friend when he was doing his. Between his take outs and mine he had plenty to do his job. I think three or four of mine broke when I took them out. Would be a tough call to figure how many extra, if any, you'd need upon reassembly if you want to buy them before you start. I'd go for all new. Dave
I guess I was lucky. I removed and re-installed mine and none broke or even cracked.

I wound up reusing mine kind of by mistake. I forgot to order some along with some other parts, and I didn't want to place another order for just these (and pay for shipping), so I used the old ones. No problems at all, just missing one that I lost.
I was able to open all of mine and reuse them with no problems. As much money as I spent on the interior it wasn't for being cheap they just were in good condition...
