There regular pipes do not sound like the original ones and i believe are the same as the units sold by Corvette Central, but i could be wrong.
I have hear the Allens pipes that mimic the original sound and they are impressive. However, judging by the pictures of the new sweet-tunder pipes, it doesnt look like you can go wrong with them if you want correct look and sound.
Checked all the websites mentioned...you'ld think exhaust vendors would have some sound bites on their website so you could tell what the different configurations sound like...strange they don;t.

The best thing is to listen to a few that have different systems. I replaced my exhaust portion on the original pipes with vette packs. I can actually talk when driving now. When you romp on it, it has a deep sound and also lost its raspy sound of the original without a cross over pipe installed

Ive noticed the raspy sound usually comes with the aftermarket pipes that have the large louvers in the chambered sections. Allens are definitely nice and deep and lack the rasp. Same with the correct orginals in my opinion.
It's hard to get good sound bites of exhaust. Usually, they turn out sounding completely different than what the exhaust sounds like in person.
allens I have heard are to loud, originals were not load until you put the pedal to the medal(fiberglass)
Allen's makes 2 different sounding systems.
The older pipes were quite loud, and sounded nothing like originals. These pipes are a little more freer breathing, than OEM ones.
About 2-3 years ago, Allen's brought out a second type of pipe. These are baffled differently, so they sound very close to original. Unfortunately, like OEM pipes, they are also more restrictive. These pipes cost a little more, but are the way to go if you want that OEM sound.

Perhaps so for the one model, i was referring to the original sound version that they make and sell on ebay. They sound very nice and are not loud in my opinion. Nice and deep tone, no flap, no rasp. I think the most annoying characteristic an exhaust can have is the flap and rasp. Unfortunately, the set of magnaflows i put on the 64 recently has that flappy noise at idle. its all in the louvers and which way they are facing. Avoid the sidepipes that have the louvers that look like they were made with a can opener. Those produce some serious and annoying rasp.

I disagree with this statement. My louvered cores do not produce the rasp or "flap" sound. Plus, the larger cores I use promote MUCH better flow vs. OE or stock replacements. Heavier materials also for longer life.
