Default rear spring cup ?

I have a new rear spring bolt, cup and bushings to install on my 65. Does the cup get peened over in the rear spring or do you just stick it in there? If it gets peened over, what is the best way to do it.
Thanks Brian

To be correct it's peened over. I didn't bother with it.

Use the ball end of a 32oz ball-peen hammer as the drift -- it is the exact size you'll need. Strike the hammer's flat end to fold the cup over, or use a large hydraulic 'arbor' press, if available.

That's exactly what I did. I had to have someone help me hold the spring.

To peen the straight portion into the spring hole, it is fairly simple.
Take a ball peen hammer, the peen end is perfect for crimping the straight collar over the spring hole take another hammer and peen, you can not tell the difference from the factory form.
