replacement clock

Default replacement clock

anyone have an idea why my replacement clock (ISI) will run for awhile
like 5 mins to 30 mins, I didnt put it in the car yet for this reason,thanks Tom

Good morning,
What year car do you have? Clocks through 62 had a different internal design from clocks starting on 63.

If it is for a C2, check out Dave Zuberer's article on cleaning the points in the clock. The points are probably not opening and closing to wind the clock every so often. I couldn't fix mine so did a quartz conversion. The kits are readily available and it takes about an hour to do.

As in the article cited above - a clean and reconditioning of the points and light lube made the difference in my clock. Works like a champ now.
