a real 53?
Today I looked at what is supposed to be #180.
I took a lot of pics. and will post with assistance.
Insurance card from 99 says E3F001180 but nowhere on the car do I find it.
Door Post says oRE11863F Briggs Mfg.
Winshield says 15M23 LAM DOT Safety Float
eng. pad 0263904E54Y
Head 3701887 GM O
Carbs are Carter YH 146-224
Tires are Dunlop Sportsman G Gold Seal 78
There is a copper colored tube that runs on the outside of the frame rail on the pass. side.
2 Hood Latch Openers, short exhaust
Gen. number is correct.
Chrome Valve Cover.
What have we got?

P.S. car is complete as far as I can tell, seats and top are excellent, carpet too.

in the 53-55 corvette registry that list 255 1953 corvettes this is one that is not listed. motor appears to be 54 passenger motor, probably built around january. this is going to be an interesting car!

For anyone interested that was a GM water leak repair fix so water dint get your left leg wet when opening the door, same for the right side .

The brake and fuel lines will run on the outside of the pass side as well. Never know??? Could be the real deal if he's lucky.
