Hi everybody,,
Im new to the site. I just purchased my 1963 corvette convertible. I want to get the engine compartment back to looking stock. Can anyone send me pictures on what a correct engine compartment should look like.
What carb would be on the 327 300HP engine? Any info or suggestions i encourage. Need exhaust manifolds.

Welcome to the world of Corvette ownership. My first advice would be to drive and enjoy the car and let it settle in before you worry about any restoration.
You might want to explore the NATIONAL CORVETTE RESTORERS SOLCIETY at www.ncrs.org. They have books and manuals that will fill your library about restoration and correct number matching engine compartments. Join the club and your local chapter.
Take your time and enjoy the experience. As they say in road racing, If you go slow and listen and pay attention......you will wind up going very fast to the winners podium!
Welcome to the CF. As you may know, the '63 Vette has some one year only parts. For starters you should invest in some quality tech data restoration books, both soft and hard bound, especially the Factory Assembly Manual. They will serve you well for many years along with references from this forum. '63 300HP was the L-75 engine and the carb was a Carter AFB, 3826004 w/4-speed. Many details exist describing the correct appearence of an engine compartment and my be best views in the books suggested above. Exhaust manifolds #'s, 3797901 left, 3797902 right. Dennis

Welcome to CF and congrat's on the new Sting Ray. I agree with Jim, he's given you great advice.
Welcome. You found the right place to get your info. Most knowledgeable Corvette people on the planet.
Go to the sticky thread regarding must have books and manuals.
IMHO (In my Humble Opinion) Spend plenty of time here reasearching before you start spending money or buying parts.
Set out a realistic goal for your car. Time spent here FIRST, will help you evaluate what you actually bought. ie: aftermarket mods vs. original parts and design.
One thing that could really help you here. Take pictures of everything. Engine, underside, interior, underside of the dash. Rear suspension etc..
Just the pics can tell us what you are dealing with.
Folks here are eager to help. And will bend over backwards to steer you in the right direction.
Already good advice given. Here are a couple of books I would start out with; Assembly Manual for 63 year only, 63 shop manual, Corvette Restoration Guide 63-67, Corvette Restoration & Technical Guide Vol 2.
Plenty of good reading. If you car drives, enjoy it this summer and fall while researching and then start the projects in the winter.

Suggest you get the NCRS '63-'64 Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide, available from the NCRS on-line store at www.ncrs.org; it describes virtually every part in the car in great detail, including part numbers, casting numbers and dates, etc. That's a "must-have", along with the Assembly Manual, owner's manual, 1963 Shop Manual, and the Noland Adams Vol. II book.
