What color primer should I use on the frame? I read that on the body you should use a primer close to the finish color for better coverage...is that original spec? If not what were the original primer colors (frame and body)?
Also are the bumper braces, spash shields, etc all supposed to be the color of the frame?
Thanks.
PS status update...I have the body drop checklist completed. Am removing remaining trim and windows...should be stripping the body next week!

You really don't need any primer on the frame. Several manufactures make chassis paint. I used a Chassis Black from my local auto color supply store. It's a semi gloss or satin finish depending on how heavy you lay it on. Your other pieces would have about the same color finish, but they did not use the same paint that is on the frame. When you get done, you can come help me with mine.

As already been stated, no primer is really used on the frame cause it offers no corrosion protection. What you can use is EPX-908(PPG's CPC line). Its a dark gray epoxy sealer and then top coat.
I always use PPG DP90 epoxy primer after blasting. It is black in color so it looks just like the finish color. I then topcoat with PPG DCC urethane flattened to a semi-gloss sheen.
The factory used no primer, but with primer like DP-90, the frame will never rust again. You only get one chance to do it, do it right and never worry about it again.
