what was bubba doing here
on the passenger exhaust manifold on the four cylinder.
it looks to be a bolt with a rounded off head. but why
its for a L36 with factory A/C.

There shouldn't be a choke tube on that motor.
There should be a bi-metallic spring on the intake.

The bolt head is rounded off because they couldn't get it out!
Grind it off flush and forget about it?

Nope - the boss that's drilled for the hot air tube on a '65 396 is in the #2 runner, just below the junction with the #4 runner. Whatever that is, it's some Bubba thing.
