Default Date Code A/C Compressor Label 1966 Question

I have a new label for my 66 compressor. I need to type in the date code, but don't know the correct format (yr/mo/day?). Anybody have a pic of a correct code? My car is a Sept 65 build.
thanks, Joe

The compressor label date code format is MMDDYS:

MM = month
DD = day
Y = year
S = shift

Example: 032162 would be March 21, 1966, 2nd shift.

Default Proper fonts

I got the following information from Powershift last year:

Info from my files indicates either COURIER 15 point font, or DELEGATE 10 point font should work well. I would recommend the COURIER 15 point font as my first choice. Data is from NCRS Forum Discussion Site. One recommendation was in June 2008 by Joe Randolph (37610) and the second one was August 2010 by Kirk McHugh (46057).

The preferred typewriter is the old IBM Selectric with the removeable/changeable font *****. Older businesses, banks, credit unions, and law offices usually still have these typewriters around for special needs.

Hope this info helps.

Thanks, Gentlemen. I have a friend with a Selectric that he still uses (and I thought I was old school). I know he has a few different fonts, hopefully he has either of these. I am guessing that ~2months prior to build is good?
Thanks again,
Joe

Yup - 2-6 weeks is "typical", although up to six months will still get full credit.

Hi John,
Are you sure about the COURIER 15 font? I am purchasing a IBM Selectric So I can do a label for my car and all the fonts I see for sale are either 10 or 12. Since I know nothing about Selectrics this will be a whole adventure in my retirement. If I master this I will offer the service for other members to have their date codes typed in. I realize this is an older post so I hope someone will have an answer. Thank you all, Duke

Duke:

Just measured the character height on the only original foil I have.
It's an early '65 compressor. "92NC1274" is the typing and the characters are .140" high.

The font style is closer to arial. The letters have plain ends. Basically like you see it printed above.

Mike

I'd really like to see this thread with pictures. I need to get a correct label for my 67. Thanks, Al W.
