I am no expert, but I think so. Just looks to straight. Both my 66's have the original blocks, neither is this "perfect".
Oh and just a fyi, it's just a car on ebay I was checking out. Of course the guy is claiming matching numbers and date codes. Has a car (according to him) built on the "4th Week of December 1962." with one cylinder head built "Date Code K2721 (Dec. 27, 1962)"... they must have rushed that cylinder head over to the plant on Thursday the 27th so they could finish it up on Friday the 28th, the last week of December.
I assume that this is on the fawn/fawn car offered by Corvette Mike. I too feel that the characters are just too crisp and clean to be real. Still a nice looking Corvette. I would love to have a fawn/fawn 62 someday and look closely every time one shows up someplace. Maybe someday I'll find just the one. Maybe even with real numbers on the pad.
No it's a car on ebay, a 63 in Silver-Blue (seller). it's a sharp looking car.
His VIN tag also looks a little suspect. Again I am no expert, but it looks like someone spot welded it on, and around the spot welds the paint has been burnt off.....
My original '61 stamp pad looks quite similar as well.
And strange things can happen with date/casting codes. I have one head dated May 1st on my engine with stamp pad date of May 2nd and the car assembly date of May 18th (all 1961 dates). JohnZ affirmed that this could easily happen all though its not typical.

IMHO the Vin Tag looks fine. The paint was ground off at the factory BEFORE the tags were spot welded on.
The stamp pad and vin tag seem "OK".........Something else bothers me more about this car. The car is 340hp with a fuel injection radiator support.

That's the way the VIN tag was done in '63....spot welded, not riveted.

That paint was ground off at the plant before the spot welds, as prior many of the welds were not holding up with paint in place. I believe that is what I have read in the past.....
