Default 65 steering column

I'm in the process of rebuilding my column. At the top of the column jacket is the turn signal housing which BUBBA had drilled thru in order to attach it to a damaged jacket. I purchased a new jacket and fixed the drilled holes in the housing. My question is what holds the jacket on to the column? There is a countersunk hole in the housing, but there doesn't seem to be anything on the inside to hold the screw.

Sorry to be so longwinded.
Thanks

if memory serves me (it's been 2 years since I rebuilt mine) and I'm understanding your questio correctly I believe the answer is really nothing.
Once everything is assembled and reinstalled it holds itself together.

The mast can't be screwed into the jacket of course otherwise it couldn't turn. Once the jacket is installed back into the car the it's hold in place by the brackets under the dach and on the motor side of the firewall. The shaft is hold in place basically once it's secured and bolted to the ragjoint and steering box. and the turn signal assembly part, horn assembly, etc is screwed into and secured to the jacket.

I think there are three threaded screw holes on the inside of the cover.

isn't that what is holding the turn signal assembly, etc to the jacket or is my memory playing games with me? It's been two years so I easily may be remembering incorrectly.

It's been a while for me too (longer than I want to admit) but I think the retainer at the top of the jacket and below the signal switch pulls things together upon reassembly.

WOW!! DZVETTE THANK YOU VERY MUCH!! I copied all your instructions. The only problem is I should have asked this question BEFORE I pulled the column out of the car. I did not mark anything.

Nothing goes in that screw hole - the hole is a holdover from the original '63-only wedge design, and they didn't bother to change the mold to eliminate the hole.
