1962 wiper motor switch assembly. When I rotate the switch **** in the instrument panel it turns and advances a cable mounted on the wiper motor, however the rotating mechanism cannot push the white plastic button the full travel. The windshield washer plunger mechanism is connected to the plastic slide. The washer plunger appears to have to much internal spring pressure for the **** and cable assembly to push. If I disconnect the washer plunger assemble the sliding motor switch, cable assembly and wipers work fine. Has anyone found a way to remove the washer piston assemble and still have spring tension to pull the plastic slide back to home position? Not much room for a decent pull spring assembly. Disassembly of the plunger assembly appears difficult as the endcap of the housing is staked I am not using the washers.
I'm not quite sure on your terminology....however if you disconnect the washer coordinator 'slider' (this is the part the vacuum line goes to) your wiper on/off/speed control Bowden cable should be adjustable via a screw holding a circular flat disc (yellow arrow) that adjusts the cable. The washer coordinator has a small nub that fits into the plastic slider and that can be disconnected after loosening the screw holding the semi-circular disc (red arrow) and the screw holding the slider.
Actually you can just leave the vacuum hose off of the coordinator and the washer is then disabled...the wiper ***'y should STILL be adjustable via the cable length (yellow arrow).

Be sure to look at the **** assembly itself. It appears to be a rack and pinion arrangement and the "rack" can extend out of the "pinion" travel and cause the cable to not move (at least that what was the problem on mine). I just pushed the rack or solid cable end back into the switch and it works fine now with the proper out front adjustment.
I think his **** is fine...it appears to be a 'sticky' coordinator since the cable moves through its full travel without it (he states). The coordinator only serves one function - to 'kick' the plastic slider off the full stop position to get some 'drying wipes' from the wipers when the washer pump vacuum is calling for a wash spray through the nozzles. As the vacuum bleeds off the wipers park after 3-4 wipes (this is adjustable at the pump).
