64/327/300..........on the way home from a show Saturday in 90 degree sun and the car running fine at 180*. I leave the two lane road to an entrance ramp to the interstate and accelerate. The engine loses power and sputters, wants to quit and I have to play with the gas pedal to keep it going and avoid getting run over by oncoming traffic. It smooths out some so I shift to 3rd and as I accelerate again the problem reoccurs. Finally reaching interstate speed it ran fine. Each time I had to stop and then accelerate the rest of the way home it acted the same way even at lower speeds. Idled/ran fine when stopped or kept at a constant speed. What's your diagnosis boys?? It will pay you to verify that the rubber hose from frame to pump isn't being sucked shut during moments of high fuel demand. Your symptoms are completely consistent with that possibility.
Thanks for the advice guys. I'll change the fuel filter and put on my spare coil for starters tomorrow and then on to the other options if I don't have any luck. Thanks again. Dave

Will do when I get someone to help rev while I watch. Thanks. Dave
I went out today and started the car prior to checking things out as suggested above. It started and ran fine so I took it on a 45 minute run and it ran perfectly. Temp outside was 75* and not as hot as last Sat. I'm thinking now the problem most likely is the collapsing rubber fuel line between the fuel pump and frame line or the coil being weak. I carry a spare coil anyway so if it quits I'll be prepared. Fuel line didn't show signs of collapse but will be checked at the time if the problem reoccurs. Thanks for all of the help. Dave
