Default Engine date?

Could someone please give me an idea of the age of the engine in my '58?

I am told the number on the block is 50126D and it is a 327 engine. Unfortunately the car is in transit so I cannot check it any further at the moment.

In the absence on the block casting number, a "D" suffix code looks to be a '58 'or 60 283 powerglide engine 165- 175 hp used in cars and trucks. Block code could tell you more.

The D at the end of the stamping indicates the engine is a 283 passenger car engine from a 1958 to 1964 car.
The 50126 before the D does not make sense to me.

It's probably F0126D; if so, that makes it a very late '60 engine or later, with two digits for January.
