What does the R379 mean on this '64?

I would think it is some type of job number for a machine shop. Don't think it is anything from the factory. JMO

I saw pics of that 64 you are talking about. I see a PCV Valve in the valve cover on the motor pic. Check that car out in person. That doesnt mean the block isnt correct but .......
