I've used AFR, RHS and Edelbrock with decent success. The AFR's are the best by far.

30% nitromethane in methanol should be about right for 13.5:CR.

If you haven't opened up the motor yet? There is probably a lot more damage that a hole in the head.

Sure it wasn't detonation that blew a hole in your head?

This motor seems destined to explode.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-a...ank-broke.html

Just buy another set of double humps. With the 097 cam, there is no need for more.

Your pretty hard on your hardware, how does a nut go through an engine without someone placing said nut in the vacinity of the air intake system?

it is almost impossible to run 13.5:1 in a 327, not enought stroke to compress the mixture that far.

you'd have to be zero decked, .015 head gasket, 11.0:1 piston and a 58cc head.....

no room for the valve to open and no where near optimal quench...

but I bet is would sound fantastic

Until I saw the "CF 10-year member" flag below his username, I was going to tell him to get off his mommy's computer and go back outside and play in the dirt.

Most of the specs you seem to give are guesses and probably inaccurate, especially the 13.5 to 1 !!!
If you buy aluminum heads get the biggest chamber size you can to bring it down a touch....av gas is expensive.

its just a beater,
motor has been done years, probably 10 to 13. then i broke the crank, put new crank in and thicker head gasket so pistons would clear. the block has been decked at some point.

I have no idea where the nut came from, at first i thought it was off the breather but its the wrong size.

Ill look back threw the paper work and get the correct specs,

with 13 1/2 pistons you should run the LS3 heads with adapters for a gen 1 engine block.

Yea the crank a few years ago was a interesting ride lol. I though the clutch exploded at first

I haven't read about the LS swap. Ill have to do some research on it

You can see where the nut was in the piston it's not as bad as it looks in the photo. I'm guessing the flash has something to do with it

Carb

Team g intake

Bottom of damaged head. Valves look good, granted dirty but don't look damaged

The not good part lol.

Rest of parts still look new, I know crap pict

Then it runs these plugs but they have to be spaced out so it doesn't hit

I know it didn't detonate, you can the nut imprint and I had to pry it out of the head, this piston is out of 8.1l bad gas + turbo = broken

Your rod may be bent also....
I had a similar issue years ago, valve float popped the head off an intake valve, piston sent it through the head, but not before hammering the piston and rod into paperweights.

The forged piston was beat so much it was turned into a wedge you couldnt get the rings out..and the rod was s shaped.

Throw some AFRs on it would pick up BIG time.
Dont need a ton of lift to pick up power with a good head it will still breather more everywhere when that valve lifts off the seat
