I was looking at Tough Stuff alternator model 7127 D 100 amps . ( 1964 327 )
Has anybody installed this one wire aplication. Not sure how it affects the plug for the Amp meter and the regulator hook up required due to the internal regulator on alternator . I believe the horn also goes off the regulator . I would like to keep the look original if possible

7127 alternator
The 7127 is really not a 1 wire unit. It has an output terminal just like the 7000 unit on our cars, and the plug has 2 wires. One wire in the plug is the sense wire, which you can run right to the output terminal. The other terminal needs 12 volts for the alternator to charge. I guess you can run a wire from the bottom of the ballast resistor to that terminal. Without 12 volts on that terminal the unit will not charge. There should be no problem with the ammeter, as that is not wired to the alternator, and the horns get their power from the horn relay--again, no connection to the alternator or regulator. By the way, the link you posted does not work.
sorry for the link that didn't work. I should have mentioned I am running msd and electrical fan. No ballast . Got a great price that is why I chose 100 amp.
