I would like to have my original '66 bumpers re-chromed, front ones in particular at this time, I am located in NJ
1-Does anyone have first hand experience with a chrome plater in this area to recommend, and what is expected ball park cost for re-plating each bumper.
2-Are there different types of chrome plating quality, if so what do I ask for when talking to Platers so I am comparing apples to apples.
3-I also noticed in the ZIP catalog they offer a service to replate your bumpers for $199 each, has anyone every used ZIP for this service and if so were you happy with results and quality of plating as that certainly appears reasonable, but who knows what I will be getting back.
thanks for reading this post and any help that can be offered, Roger
I'm from NJ and went through this a few months back. "Local" options are Virginia vettes, 200 each, good reputation and quality...Frankford, expensive, great quality, SLOOOOWWWW turnaround. Librandi in PA, Great quality, not sure of price for bumpers, but they are doing my vents for 200 each, same as V.V. , Paul's chrome in PA, $425/bumper,eeek! NuChrome in Mass, troubled business, might want to stay away.
Hope this helps.
