Inland Empire Driveline has made a couple of driveshafts for me. Over the phone I told them what U-joints, what material, what diameter, and what center-to-center length. They did the rest and the results were perfect.
Cost was $250, as I recall, for a 3" aluminum driveshaft. Steel would have been less.

thanks...
i reckon if i can determine the diameter and spline of the tailshaft and the length of the yoke/insertion depth/etc and use the OD of the original yoke, then something can be fabricated.

those aluminum shafts you had made , were they for the GS ? How are they holding up ? I gave up and had steel shafts made . the last set of aluminum ones were getting their eyelets egg shaped and ready to break .

Yes, for the Grand Sport. Never had a problem in thousands of track miles.
To be fair to IED, the person on the phone did try to talk me out of going with aluminum. He had concerns. However, I'd done my homework and knew that a 3" tube with 1310 U-joints would easily withstand the driveline torque of my car's engine.
Aluminum might not hold up well in a drag racing environment but for road racing it worked fine for me.
What style U-joint and how much driveline torque and what application for the aluminum shaft which you tried?

instructions to supply measurements came with the transmission but there is no detailed list of parts, part #s, sizes, etc as all they needed to fabricate was a length; they knew the rest.
Bill
Bill: PM me if you want the name of a shop here in Tampa that could do the install for you. In any event, I use Fleet Pride, also in Tampa, for my driveshaft needs. I have seen them rebuild and create drive shafts in a few days. Jerry

I was referring to the Inland Empire site. Everything is there to figure out what you need.
Frank didn't say "another" $100; he said $100.... gonna need a new yoke too to fit the SS700; and i have no clue as to what that is...
Bill
I'm figuring out what I need for my SS700 going into my 63. Keisler provided me some info, but have been calling them all week ..but no answer, now I know why.
You need at 31 spline, c6 Ford Automatic yolk. Keisler said only a 1310 u-joint will fit in the tunnel of a 63 (or C2 in general I think). I think a 1330 may fit and will verify in the next few days when I drop my body back on.
I've spoken to the following companies the last few days that can make you a steel driveshaft (3") :
Driveshaftshop: $280 including yolk
Denny's driveshaft: $330 without yolk
inland empire: $410 including yolk
Regarding the bankruptcy, kinda weird I received a $300 refund from them on my credit card 10 days ago for a flywheel they failed to ship me over two months ago. Accounting must not have seen it coming.

Hardly. Chapter 7 means it's all over, with creditors scrounging for scraps (they didn't file Chapter 11).
So you are tell me they can't still open as a business same shop just a diff name. Let's just see. From the list of people and places that are in the BK-7 The guy could have made a list of who wasn't in the BK-7and it be shorter..

IF someone buys them out of liquidation (and they could do that) yes it is possible but everyone that has a deposit or full payment will get nothing out of the new business thats liquidated in court and so those people will all lose what they already paid and have nothing and the new business has no obligation to them.
So they will not go back to the new company and give them more money and everyone else will know what happened and not go there so how much good will that do?
No matter what any one with payment already sent loses
Chapter 7 bankruptcy is sometimes also called liquidation bankruptcy. Firms experiencing this form of bankruptcy are past the stage of reorganization and must sell off any un-exempt assets to pay creditors. In chapter 7, the creditors collect their debts according to how they loaned out the money to the firm (also referred to as the "absolute priority"). A trustee is appointed, who ensures that any assets that are secured are sold and that the proceeds are paid to the specific creditors.
Chapter 11 bankruptcy can also be called rehabilitation bankruptcy. It's much more involved than chapter 7 as it allows the firm the opportunity to reorganize its debt and to try to re-emerge as a healthy organization. What this means is that the firm will contact its creditors in an attempt to change the terms on loans such as the interest rate and dollar value of payments. Like its cousin, chapter 11 requires that a trustee be appointed; however, rather than selling off all assets to pay back creditors, the trustee supervises the assets of the debtor and allows business to continue.

As one of the first People in South New Jersey to Install a Kit by keisler, I'm sorry to see them go. Shafi Keisler sent his install tech from the factory to install mine at a Install Party cook out in my area. Many of you in this area and north of me might remember that Install Party Cook Out.
We had about 25 People show up to watch the install. A good time was had by all. Here's a Few Pic's Of some of the people.

Rob English (sitting with hands folded), IS and will continue to be missed.
He was a class act and a good friend.
Weasels. They called me last week for approval to charge another $4000 to insure a slot in their suppliers production schedule. Luckily I refused and advised my card not to accept additional charges.
As JohnZ noted above... The filing is Chapter 7, which is when assets are seized, liquidated and distributed to creditors as partial payment of debt. Chapter 11 is when the business is allowed to reorganize and create a plan for debt repayment while continuing day-to-day operations. So this is NOT a reopen the doors plan to my understanding, this is liquidation... gone...
Still say the same people will be back doing the same thing as they are now in no time.
