I am new to vintage electrics. How do you test the generator and voltage regulator? I have searched but cant find anything specific.
I replaced brushes, springs and bearings in the generator but didn't check the armature resistance. If the voltage regulator is OK, I would prefer to keep it original.

The ST-12 (C1 Shop Manual) doesn't cover components or systems that are shared with passenger cars - only items that are specific to the Corvette. The 1962 Passenger Car Shop Manual covers the charging system in great detail, with all diagnostic and troubleshooting procedures. It's available from the NCRS on-line store at www.ncrs.org.

I have this manual - which section are you referring to? There is a lot of information on the wipers but nothing I can see on the generator.
