I have a 56 in which the windshield had been removed from the car when I purchased it. I am now getting close to putting it back together but want to take the windshield apart to polish the stainless and replace the rubber around the glass that is dry rotted. Is there anything tricky about taking these apart or anything I need to be aware of?
Hey Rich, thanks for the link to the instructions. That was great and will be very helpful! Any chance you might have a link like that for hardtop disassembly and rebuilding. That's another project coming up for me soon. Thanks again!

I think forum member Herb "firstgear" had done a lot on hardtop restoration; he's taken a lot of pictures but I don't know if there is instructional narrative to go along with it.... Also GlassWorks has some youtube videos that cover some of the process.
Justplainwacky posted an extensive hardtop rebuild thread in the last year or so. Pershaps someone who isnt posting from a phone can search for it and post the link.

Dennis (Jusplainwhacky) asked that I post the PDF made from his post referenced by 62Jeff above here as well as at the thread I started earlier: "PDF version of C1 Hardtop restoration info by Jusplainwhacky (Dennis D)" (http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-a...-dennis-d.html)
The PDF is attached. Thanks go to Dennis for writing that up for us.
