steering wheel question

Default steering wheel question

i got an ecklers steering wheel with new screws...

do i need a puller to take the old wheel off? 63 swc btw...

You need a puller to take the hub off. Not if your just replacing the wheel with screws.

I'd say yes if you're pulling the wheel. Remove the horn button and contacts below and unscrew the nut. You might get lucky by pulling up on/working the steering wheel but I'd be surprised. I think you can rent a puller from Auto Zone or similar places.

If your '63 is like my '66 you don't need to pull the hub. Just gently pry off the button, remove the 3 contact screws, then remove the screws for the wheel.

Correct. You don't need the puller unless you need to get the hub off to get to the turn signal switch or something below. Don't remove the large nut in the center, just the phillips screws in the wheel.

You can replace the wheel by removing the horn cap and taking out the screws. You need a puller to remove the hub that the wheel is screwed to.
