Finally!

Pictures here: (I will post some from my own camera shortly) http://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/...e/1617925.html
I have admired these cars since they came out, but only recently got to the point I felt comfortable with acquiring one. I am so excited, it's like Christmas 1965 all over again. I travel quite a bit, plus am having it shipped, so I can only stare at the pictures for now.

Thanks to all here that have fanned the flames, advised, and provided wise council.

Please post pictures and tell us about the car

(inability)She is a '65 with about 78K miles (no way to tell if original that I can think of)(but less than my 2006) with a non-matching 300HP motor, recently rebuilt, but properly date coded for the car. Will probably sell the motor eventually, and try to find a date matching 365 HP she was built with. Other than that she appears highly original, with the correct tranny and differential, among other items.
She has recent new brakes, spare tire carrier, all new wiring and some new chrome, and some other details. The underbody is very clean and tidy, although some rubber is tired, including the body mount cushions. No hard top present. She has a new, but not OEM exhaust.
She has an older repaint with some minor defects, but is a very good "ten footer". The interior is full of new or very nice original pieces.
She starts right up, idles well, and drives very nicely.
Thanks for asking.

In other news, I just noticed the price posted in that link and am pleased to report that I was able to acquire the '65 for significantly less that the listed $45K price, close to five figures less, and was able to negotiate in shipping it close to my house as part of the deal.
Interestingly, I chose to finance in with USAA when their offer was too good to pass up. Actually hard to believe, almost, had I not signed the documents myself. At 1.4883% for 72 months, I had no choice but to finance it rather than use investment and savings money. Sometimes you get lucky.
