Default Engine codes

Is there a list anywhere on the forum that lists the engine and its code #? Example l89 is a 427 with 435 hp.

Corvette engine codes

And

Originally on Vettenet, taken for NCRS, and then modified greatly and much thrown out after they were caught.

Hello everyone, New member here. RE: Casting Numbers
I can't find the discussion that I reading yesterday that was answering a lot of my questions.
My 1965 is in process of restoration after 40 yrs. of storage. All that I ever heard was "the numbers don't match". I have been doing research on my own and have not quite found the answer. Any help would be appreciated. I have found info. on casting #...12, nothing on #...42.
May 1965 production. CE..... On front pad, 3959542 Casting number, camel hump heads,NO road draft hole in block to properly connect PCV to dual snorkel air filter.
I understand that I probably have a cobbled together engine and would like to get this back to close to original. I.e. 327 base model. Was a CE... A replacement block or entire engine? Some have said to rebuild the CE...since it is the "original" engine, and some have said to set the CE on the curb and begin my quest for a real casting number.

its best to start your own thread and not muddy up this one

bottom line no matter what you do if the engine stamp pad doesn't have the stamp with your vin. its just a NOM
