dimmer switch quality
What is the best dimmer switch and where to buy?
I installed a new one on my 65 which I bought from one of the leading vendors but it broke in 2 pieces under the carpet (connector seperated from metal part).
Edges from plastic connector broke off so I can not put it back properly.

I'd try NAPA, most dimmers were used in Chevrolets for years.
PS Just noticed your location, do you have auto parts stores for old Chevy's there? Or can you order from US auto parts stores on line?

So you have any GM dealers over there close by that sells parts. If so you can still buy one from them
