Default Got a split, now what

I could post pictures of what the car looks like after being restored but I thought I would show you what sold me on the car. A no hit body, an all original drive train and a cherry frame. I tried to post a view of the left side but I could only get 3 pictures to post.

Sweet ride! But hey, how about that body dolly? Is that built on the standard design for body dollies? Can you post some more images and/or design notes if different than the ones that we are all aware of?

Sorry, I know nothing about the body dolly. Car was restored about 6 years ago and I know none of the people that did it personally. The man I purchased car from did none of the work himself. All work was hired. I'll see if there are any other pictures of it.

The "body dolly" he is asking about is your restored chassis...You are probably still on an adreniline rush over the purchase and not able to pick up on the joke.

If no pics, give us a run down on the options and colors..

Default Tired motor

Pretty tired looking motor. They put in all new internals except for the camshaft and crank. They bored it .030 thousand over. They also did something I do not like. They put in harden steel valve seats for the poor gas we have. Only reason I do not like it is that is something that could failed by coming loose but that's just me. Car had about 60 plus thousand miles. The engine is a 300 HP. My second vett is 250HP. Did not realize how just 50 more HP would help but I can sure tell a big difference.

You'll never notice the hardened valve seals either way - don't let it bother you.
I don't understand this thread's title, "Now What ?". You spent all this money with no plan for the car ? I wish I had your money in that case...

You can tweak a 250hp motor some to get very acceptable performance....but; it'll never be a rocket. The stock timing and advance curve on those motors is designed to make them dogs...

Just something my wife said when I brought the car home. "You got a split, now what" implying what's all the hype about.

Brown with red interior. I think it's a neat color combo. Does anyone know what CJ 18 63 stamped on the rear end stand for..

The CJ means its a 3.08 positrac and 63 is the year made. Not sure about the 18. Mine is a CE 11 06 62. which means 4.11 posi made in Nov. 6 1962. Sure ther is not another number between the CJ and 18?

Default Just kidding

OK, I had my little joke but in case I do not wake up tomorrow I do not want you guys to think I purchased a brown car. The second owner, (I'm the fourth) must of been drunk that day to paint the car brown. Anyway at least the 3rd owner had enough sense to paint it as per the trim tag which is white with red interior. In my C1 days when I was painting my cars I would always paint one red and then when sold paint the next one white just to have something different. Always had red interior. So I really like the white with red interior. Thumbs up to zoomin, I know he wanted to say"'what the hell is that".

That was quite a joke alright...

I've always thought white with a red office is a great color combo.

However comma

With a body like that car has, I would be temped to strip it all off again and just drive it around "necked"

you did good!
