Frame bent - Shop says to leave it
#41
Thanks guys for the support....If all of you said "DON'T DO IT!!!" then I'd be incline to drop the frame pulling idea...but as one expert said..."I don't know what the big deal is..this is what we do".
Hopefully when we go to do it, it doesn't come out looking like a tin can on the freeway.

My bet is that the more aggressive the changes you try to make, the more you screw up the geometry and you will then develop a problem with the clutch not disengaging.

Well...got the frame pulled out...all went well.
Clutch bracket and rod line right up.

Also glad it worked out - I'd be inspecting every weld and box seam on the frame though.
For some reason I thought this car was a lot farther along than it apparently is....

Frank...
The frame is in excellent shape as far as structure...just got it at one point. It was also sand blasted when the body was off. Not sure what you mean by "further along"...the only thing left is some body work (majority done) and paint.

On a few of the previous posts, it was mentioned that straightening a frame could do damage to the fiberglass mounting holes if it were pulled too much.
That is true, that is why a good frame shop will remove the bolts as necessary to prevent damage. If your car is all nicely painted and the doors close perfectly, you may have to do some corrections in order to re bolt it. But isn't what this is all about, to end up with a correct car?

Also some times you have to pull the frame too much to allow for creep back.

Ahh....got it! Yea, that "spring effect" makes it tricky. We had to do several pulls in different directions to get it right.
