First, since I always seem to forget to put this...
1961, Late production, VIN 10012
I found this wire dangling and not attached to anything...it comes through the firewall right behind the ignition shielding. Anyone know what this is and where it should connect?
You should check carefully and there is a lot of orange overspray on that wire but I'm betting its the ground that goes to the rearmost PS valve cover screw. That would also explain the big ring terminal. You need to confirm that though...
Here it is connected on my '61 engine...(lower left in picture)

I just checked and there is already a ground wire there...
I think I figured it out... I got up under the dash and traced the other end of the wire to the heater blower housing. Looks like someone tried to improvise a ground wire of some sort. I don't think it is needed as the blower works fine without it hooked up. Thoughts?
It may be just the picture, but the size of that terminal looks more like a wire connected to the starter battery + post. If so, it may have supplied power to some long lost accessory.
