Default VA install with Center Vent

Wow.......Did you cut out and install a center vent yourself? That is awesome. If so, could you tell me what you used as a template for the dash cut and the measurements you used to properly place the vent hole?

Great Job!!!

Thanks for the nice compliment.
I used the LIC purchased dash bezel to make a paper template and "eyeballed" the location from photos of factory air dashes, cut it with a dremel tool. Did not have access to a factory AC car to measure. That would be a good way for accurate cut location. The cut hole could have been slightly higher above the clock on mine because the contours of the inner duct and inside of the dash are off slightly. Consequently, the louver does not rotate enough.
Crimped duct hoses from VA placed inside of the smaller LIC ducts (minimize obstructions in flow from source), sealed with duct tape. Be careful , take your time, wear a respirator (fiber glass dust everywhere, most in my lungs) if you decide to make a modification that cannot be changed back. I'm not a purist and enjoy the look. Vintage Air unit blows cold but fan is loud. Mine has side pipes so I'm used to loud noise.
