I've been on a lot of auto and big truck assembly lines and I can guarantee you that none have things moving as fast as those!! Today's folks would cry like a baby if they had to work that hard/fast.

Looks like the film was transferred at a higher than normal speed. Not unusual for films of that era...

Interesting though.

Funny, no PPE visible on any of the assembly line workers, several of which are attired in suits, vests, and ties.

Based in line speeds ingrained in my head from years in assembly plants that assembly line is plenty fast.

Web says most plants ran 60 or so and hour with one plant topping out at 250 an hour. Not sure how true that may be...

Keep in mind component mfg and body shop would have to run a lot faster than that to keep up back then

Interesting to realize think that Americans could aspire to own a car a hundred years ago, but Europeans didn't begin to catch up until the 1950s, and the Japanese not until the late 1960s (their "My car" generation). Some parts of the world are still waiting ....

I hear ya, Frankie. When I was a little kid, the first model I built was a '55 Chevy. Came with the option to go stock, or go 'gasser'. At 5 years old, I knew it had to have the wheel wells cut, have the slicks installed, bumpers deleted, and had to be Competition Orange. And even at that age, shift ***** had to be white. (Mom's white stick pins made great 'Hurst' shifters). I really love hotrods as they used to be built, prior to 1980. No billet. No Boyd. Just home-spun ingenuity and tuck and roll.

"Tuck and roll". I worked with a guy in the late 60's/early 70's that referred to those interiors as "rolled and completed".

When I was a kid, that was called "rolled and pleated".
